Copy or Certificate of Civil Status from Abroad

You can request an extract from the Civil Registry digitally from abroad.

Please note: the important life event must have taken place in Alkmaar.

Which extracts are available?

In the online application form, you indicate which extract you wish to receive.

Several types of extracts are possible

• Birth certificate
• Marriage and partnership certificate
• Divorce certificate and termination of registered partnership
• Death certificate

What does an extract cost?

€17.80. Please note: you will not receive a refund if the important life event did not take place in Alkmaar. Costs will still have been incurred to search for your information.

International Extract

A Dutch civil status certificate can also be requested in multiple languages. This is called an international extract. You can indicate this in the online application form.

You may authorize someone else to submit the application in person at the service desk. This is only possible by appointment. This person must bring:   · The authorization form for collection (PDF) · A copy of the ID of the person granting permission · Their own ID
